Space Science is not just about exploring other worlds, it's also about observing our own world so that we can make it a better place for mankind. South African National Space Agency provides access to products and services that include earth observation, space science, communication, and navigation.
These services are used by multiple stakeholders across a wide variety of sectors. Our data applications assist in forecasting, informing policymaking, enabling decision-making that supports socio-economic growth in South Africa. A wide range of sectors can benefit from this work, including the public and private sectors in communication, navigation, aviation, weather forecasting, human settlement, agriculture, energy, and security.
NICIS

The National Integrated Cyber Infrastructure System, or NICIS, offers super computing capabilities that ensure participation in the global economy and the ability to remain competitive in key industries.

CSIR TVWS
Connecting and empowering communities with TV White Space technology.
Reliable, convenient access to the internet is a crucial part of life and work in the modern world. But accessing isolated areas is challenging. Television white spaces (TVWS) is an ideal technology for delivering long-range, affordable broadband wireless Internet connectivity to underserved communities.
It can offer Internet speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s and can also enable deployment of Internet of Things (IoT) networks and applications. The Spectrum Switch was developed in collaboration between the Department of Science and Innovation, ICASA and the Technology Innovation Agency (TIA). The deployment of this technology in rural locations has the ability to stimulate employment and small business development. This technology is ideal for SMMEs in the telecommunication industry.
